We are very pleased to report that the KIK Academy goes from strength to strength, with 156 pupils now on roll.  During her visit in January, Lorraine met with Kailahun’s Director of Education, Mr Conteh, who thanked the staff for all their hard work.  He took the application forms for Government assistance back to Freetown to discuss with the Minister of Education.  It is hoped that the Academy will achieve Government-assisted status by August 2020.

During the visit, the Academy held an inter-house sports event, with the 4 teams marching from the Academy to the town sports.  Water engineer Rob Stephens took part as  a member of the red team.  As well as races, the teams dressed up as Kings or Queens with a crowd of up to 2,000 spectators voting on the best-dressed.  It was a brilliant weekend overall.  Photographs of the event can be seen on our Facebook page and below.
